About Calfskins & Goatskins

Calfskins and Goatskins

Our calfskins come from Brazil and our goatskins from Colombia, each hand-selected for its softness, natural beauty and markings. We also carry axis deer hides when we find good ones. Average size is about 7 square feet.

Calfskin or Goatskin?

Goatskins usually have longer hair and a more textured look. Calfskins have shorter, softer hair and a more refined finish. Both bring natural pattern to a small space.

We don't carry mass inventory. Our hides come from small, independent tanneries in Brazil and Colombia, through relationships that go back more than 30 years, and every piece is chosen by hand. That lets us keep our standards high and our prices fair. Natural variations in color and pattern are part of what makes each hide one of a kind.
